How to pinterest downloader

Found a recipe video, a craft idea or a wallpaper on Pinterest that you want to keep? Paste the pin's link and the downloader shows what that pin offers: the video, its sound on its own, and the original full-size image, each with its file size. Press Download on the one you want.

  1. Copy the pin's link from Pinterest, the full address or a pin.it share link.
  2. Paste it here and press Look up downloads to see the video, audio and image.
  3. Press Download on the file you want and save it to your phone or computer.

This tool runs on our servers. Your file travels over an encrypted connection and is deleted automatically 2 hours after processing.

Why use this tool

Pinterest has no download button for videos, and saving an image from the app often gives you a small preview instead of the original. This gets you the file Pinterest itself serves: the video as published and the image at its original size, not a screenshot.

Each option shows its format and size before you download, so you know whether a file will fit in a chat or an upload form. The sound of a video can be saved on its own as an M4A, copied straight out of the video without re-encoding.

Only public pins can be read. A pin whose owner turned off image downloads is shown without its image, because that is the owner's choice. Downloads are processed on our servers and deleted automatically 2 hours after processing.

Questions people ask

Does it work with pin.it links from the Pinterest app?

Yes. Paste the pin.it share link and it is followed to the pin it points at. If a pin.it link does not lead to a pin, the tool says so.

What quality will the video be?

The quality Pinterest publishes for that pin, usually 720p or the original size if it was smaller. The exact size and file size are shown before you download.

Can I download only the sound from a Pinterest video?

Yes. Open the Audio tab and download the M4A. It is the video's own sound track, copied out without being re-encoded. A video with no sound says so instead of giving you an empty file.

Why is there no image option for some pins?

Pinterest lets a pin's owner turn off image downloads. When they have, the image is not offered here either.

Do I need an account?

Looking up a pin needs no account. Files are prepared on our servers, so a guest signs in with a free account to download the result.
