Refund policy

A 7-day conditional window on Pro charges, and a plain answer to what happens to your credits when a refund goes through.

Draft last updated 8 September 2026
Draft — pending legal counsel review
This document describes, in plain language, what UtilityHub actually does with data, money and files. It has not yet been reviewed by a lawyer, and it is not a final, binding policy until that review is complete and this notice is removed.

The 7-day window

You can request a refund within 7 days of a Pro charge — whether that's your first subscription payment or a renewal. There's no separate form to hunt for and no reason given as a hurdle: request it, and it's assessed against the one condition below.

What "conditional" means

We look at how the plan was actually used in those 7 days before approving a refund. Heavy use of Pro-only capacity in that window — for example, processing a large volume of files through the priority queue, or creating several dynamic QR codes that are now printed and circulating — can affect eligibility, because a refund after the value has already been used isn't the same request as one made after realising the plan isn't a fit. The exact usage thresholds are one of the specifics still being finalised with support policy and legal counsel (see the draft notice at the top of this page); until they're published here, every request is assessed case by case rather than against a rule you can't see.

Credits and a subscription refund

If your Pro subscription charge is refunded, any credits that were granted to you as part of that plan's allowance are removed from your balance as part of the same refund. Credits you separately purchased with a credit pack are not touched — you paid for those directly, independently of the subscription, and a subscription refund doesn't reach back into a separate purchase.

Credit pack purchases

Starter, Standard and Bulk credit packs (see the pricing page for current pricing) are one-time purchases and the credits inside them never expire. Refund eligibility for an unused credit-pack purchase, specifically, is not yet finalised in this draft — if this applies to you, contact support below and we'll handle it directly rather than leave you without an answer while the policy is completed.

Cancelling is not the same as refunding

Cancelling your Pro subscription stops future billing — it's two clicks, with no retention screen, and the confirmation states the exact date your access ends. It does not, by itself, refund a charge you've already paid for. If you're within 7 days of a charge and want that specific payment back, request a refund using the steps below in addition to (or instead of) cancelling.

How to request one

Request a refund from Billing in your account, or contact [billing-support@utilityhub.in — placeholder] with the account email and the date of the charge. You won't be asked to justify keeping a card on file or sit through a "confirm you still want this" screen — that pattern belongs to cancellation, and we don't repeat it here either.

How long it takes

Once a refund is approved, Razorpay typically settles it back to your original payment method within 5–7 business days, though your bank or UPI provider's own processing time can add a little more. We'll confirm by email the moment we approve it — you won't be left checking your bank statement to find out.

Changes to this policy

If this policy changes — including once the usage-eligibility criteria in "What "conditional" means" are finalised — we'll update the date at the top of this page and, for material changes, notify account holders by email.
