How to type hindi with an english keyboard
Write Hindi the way you already chat in Hinglish: type mera naam ram hai and get मेरा नाम राम है. Each word becomes Hindi script when you press Space, with up to five suggestions to choose from. Why use this tool
This is phonetic typing, also called transliteration: it changes the script, not the language. You spell a Hindi word with English letters the way it sounds, and the tool writes the same word in Devanagari. It does not translate English into Hindi: typing How are you will not give you आप कैसे हैं.
Hinglish spelling is loose, so a letter can stand for more than one sound: a can be अ or आ, t can be त or ट, and n at the end of main is the nasal in मैं. The tool works out the likely spellings of each word and ranks real Hindi words first, which is why ram becomes राम and kal offers both कल and काल.
Everything happens in your browser. What you type is not uploaded or saved anywhere, and the tool keeps working without an internet connection once the page has loaded. The only thing remembered, on your device, is which suggestion you prefer for a spelling, so your usual word comes first next time.

How can I type Hindi using an English keyboard?
Type each Hindi word as it sounds in English letters and press Space. For example, aap kaise hain becomes आप कैसे हैं. If the first suggestion is not the word you meant, choose another with the arrow keys, its number, or a tap before pressing Space.
Is English to Hindi typing free?
Yes. It is free, with no signup, no limit on how much you type, and no watermark on the files you download.
Is this a Hindi translator?
No. It changes the script, not the language. Type Hindi words in English letters to get them in Hindi script. English sentences are not translated into Hindi.
Can I copy Hindi text into Microsoft Word?
Yes. The text is standard Unicode Hindi, so Copy text and paste works in Word, Google Docs, WhatsApp and email. You can also download a Word file directly with the Word button.
Can I download my Hindi typing as PDF?
Yes, through your browser's print window: press Print / Save as PDF and choose Save as PDF. Using the browser's own print engine keeps Hindi letters and matras joined correctly, which a simple PDF generator can break.
Does this tool work on mobile?
Yes. It works in your phone's browser with the normal keyboard. Suggestions appear above the text box so the keyboard does not cover them, and you can tap one to use it.
Is the typed text uploaded to a server?
No. Typing, suggestions and downloads all happen in your browser, and nothing you type is sent to our servers or stored. Clearing the page or closing the tab removes it.
